How to use Still

Add, move, and customize

Choose a widget in the library. Hover its top edge to reveal controls, then open Customize. Drag the title to move it; enable edge resizing to change its size. Lock position and size when you are happy with the result.

Choose a layer

Where it lives selects Desktop, Floating, or Always on top. Bring to front and Send to back order widgets within that placement. An always-on-top widget remains above floating widgets.

Add a website and style its frame

Add Website, enter an http or https address, and choose whether to preserve its original appearance. Website frame offers automatic website colors or manual colors, border thickness, padding, and corner roundness. Hover the navigation dropdown for Back, Forward, and the address.

Import an extension

Add Browser extension, then choose manifest.json, choose its complete folder, or paste either path. A manifest alone is insufficient: scripts and assets must remain alongside it. Store links and CRX archives are not imported directly. Existing browser sign-ins, history, and extension settings are not transferred.

Close, hide, or quit

Closing the workspace keeps Still in the tray. A widget s close control asks before hiding it. Restore widgets from the tray or My desktop. Quit Still ends the application. If click-through prevents interaction, choose Unlock all widgets from the tray.

Data, offline use, and backups

Settings are stored under %APPDATA%/still-widgets. Back up this folder before resetting or moving computers. Core widgets work locally; websites and third-party extensions use their own services. Weather is manually entered, not a live forecast.
